Go and watch it :D (You don't have to get involved in fandom, you CAN just watch it - not that I would know but... well).

I would not reccommend this BUT you could even start with Season 4 because they practically gave the show a whole new face.

I watch it and I'm not in the fandom. It's a fun show that doesn't take itself too seriously dispite what the fandom would have you belive.

But if you're starting in season four, I'd recommend reading some detailed summaries of the past three seasons, because the mytharc is HEAVY.

Yeah, I'd probably start with season four and if I loved them so much I wanted to see what happened before, I'd go and watch the previous seasons. I will definitely do some research - would wikipedia have enough info, you think?

He is the younger brother and has developed mysterious magical powers that he hasn't been very good at using and are probably bad for him. They have a relationship that beats the Petrellis by a mile for codependence. They travel around the country fighting evil things, the most relevant of which being demons, which possess people (you can tell when someone is possessed because their eyes get freaky (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v684/refur21/supernatural6/315r127-1.jpg)), and when not possessing people resemble clouds of black smoke. Demons can be exorcised using a Latin chant. One probably-not-evil demon is Ruby, who was helpful last season, and who Sam trusts but Dean doesn't. She owns a knife (http://i37.tinypic.com/x57a6a.jpg) that kills demons (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v684/refur21/supernatural3/301r173-1.jpg), which Sam and Dean got their hands on after she was knocked out of her host body by Lilith (http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj77/PKtech/Jensen%20Ackles/LilithSupernatural-liten.jpg), a demon with freaky white eyes who was the big bad of S3 and held Dean's contract. Dean had sold his soul to save Sam, and at the end of S3, a hellhound came to collect, and he was killed (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v684/refur21/supernatural6/315r160-11.jpg). (Ruby had told Sam that he could kill Lilith using his ~*~psychic powahz~*~ but Dean was very insistent that this was a BAD IDEA.) S3 ended with Dean in hell (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v684/refur21/supernatural6/315r172-1.jpg). Lilith attacked Sam using her own ~*~demon powahz~*~ but he was immune.

Also, the boys have a good friend in Bobby (http://images-cdn01.associatedcontent.com/image/A2145/214593/300_214593.jpg), who is awesome.

LOL and I forgot to say, I love the friendly, accessible style of this. I felt just like I was reading a children's book. About demon possession and exorcisms. :p

XD I felt a bit like I was writing a children's book! And Supernatural For Kids would be the second most awesome children's book ever. You should write SPN for Kids - if I can illustrate it. ;D

Imagine how ASHAMED the kid would be every time they had to go to the bathroom. XD And of course I know about that book; it is a vair important childhood text.

Oh, I'm not a fic writer, really. And I'm not even in SPN fandom. But the idea of SPN For Kids is tempting. Instead of teaching kids how to get over their fear of the monster in the closet, it would teach them how to kill it.
