People talk about things they like (and things they used to like that they don't think are as good anymore). We all have things we love to talk about and things we hate hearing about. I got really sick of hearing about the Dark Knight Trilogy since I was meh on those, but they were popular so they were talked about a lot. There is more talking about something when a new part comes out. It will die down to normal levels eventually.

Block Star Wars if you don't want to hear about it. Start discussions about what you do want to talk about. People are going to talk about things they want to talk about.
