Actually those look interesting. Putting them on my list. I do like straight-up modern stuff too. I just would sometimes like to see traditional takes on elves, dwarves, etc. rather than them being reimagined all the time. But I'll do any well-written fantasy really. Most of the urban fantasy I've seen has been romance stuff and more romance than fantasy, and that is not my cup of tea at all. These look cool though.

Yeah, I definitely hear you on the "more romance than fantasy" issue. So many books go that route, and I'm like "but I want to hear more about the fae politics/werewolf war/evil assassin/whatever, not generic romance!" I will often end up reading them anyway, as at least they have a bit to them and I read a ton, but mostly they are meh.
