I'd be all for it becoming canon officially, but I've also accepted the possibility that it won't. I do like their friendship, too, so if they're still friends at the end of it all, I'll be just as good with that.

Same. Even if it's not canon, I'm totally fine with it as long as their friendship is still intact and they're on good terms.

Anywho, I hope things work out okay for you with your pairing/show, and that you can find some other fans of the pairing to squee with, and all that good stuff :).
