I loved this manga, caught up with the scanslations and then forgot it for a while, and then the next I heard about it was someone talking about how its main purpose is to be softcore loli, by admission of the author. So that's why, if true.

I mean... it's Japan.

Not manga (though I wouldn't be surprised if it's been adapted since), but I couldn't play the first Xenosaga without being "treated" to endless panty shots the moment MOMO was introduced. It got better in the second game, but in the third, you couldn't have her as your lead character because the back of her skirt would bounce up with every step :/

I remember reading this manga and liking it, but yeah, all those panty shots of a character who looks like a little girl were weird.
