One of my best friends went to BU a few years ago. I don't know how much stuff has changed since then, but she said it was a nerdy blast.

It generally also depends on what you're studying. There's lots of fandom people in the humanist department in my old university, but I'm not sure of the other departments.

I'm at BC, and my experience has been that Cambridge is really nerdy. Go hang out in Harvard Square and you'll meet all the geeks from Harvard and MIT.
