and then he comes home all pissed off and growling and shit because all Monet paints are fucking flowers and bridges and crap like that and Claude is all concerned housewife "What happened BB?" and Edouard just grabs him and ravishes him and their beards get all tangled together and shit and Monet is like "This must be love" but all the while there is just a very fine line between lust and hate in Manet's heart and it is all very angsty and dysfunctional and abusive because even though Manet will never admit it he really does love the damn kid but can never let it be known because then Monet would get even more clingy and it would be a bad situation.

And then Edouard dies because of syphilis, true*, but also probably a heart attack because of the high blood pressure from all the yelling and sex and Claude is all Princess Buttercup "I will never love again" and Manet from beyond the grave is all like "fuck you I'm not even an actual Impressionist and my bars are filled with hookers."

And posterity is all like "manet lol don't you mean monet" so Manet is like "GTFO of my corner of the ethereal plane I never loved you I was just making you work off your debts" and Monet is like "What happened BB I miss us" and Manet is like "No."

I do not care that about 87% of this makes no sense when evaluated next to actual history.

*He was a cheater because he was also afraid of commitment.
