I haven't watched this (I really only watch English or Spanish things), but man do the images look pretty and make it seem tempting. It gives me very Tolkien elf vibes with the pretty men in it.

Oh, definitely. The Gusu Lan sect (guy on the right) give a very elven vibe, IMO. But really, most of the cast (male and female) are gorgeous, and their homes are equally beautiful and distinctive.

The overlap between this fandom and Tolkien fandom is amusingly big, actually XD
Pretty borderline immortal, kinda magical guys (and ladies) with pretty flowing long hair and elaborate clothes and plenty of angst, family feuds and murder - no wonder if attracts the same kind of fandom haha!

I love most of the costumes (with some caveats) and set design but what kills me is the obvious rubber soles in every single shoe-close-up (of which there are too many too ignore it).

Haha, I admit I hadn't noticed but I'd probably let that one pass, anyway. It'd be tough to stick to a more historical look for so many people, I guess. But they ought to be more careful in those close up shots.

I think it's also a security issue in some cases - especially when there is wet ground. It's just very obvious in some cases, but it's okay since most of the other costumes are so great.
