Inspiration media

Do you have any media you find inspiring? Not necessarily your favorite media, but media you find inspiring in some way.

Inspired by my current Judging Amy rewatch. That's the show that is my favorite law show and it is the one that I watch when I need job inspiration. It is the show that made me pick law in the first place. It isn't a top 10 favorite show, though it is good. But it is the show that reminds me that I can do some good as a lawyer and that it is worth it.

Great British Bake Off! Inspired me to bake different things.

I love that show so much. It makes me wish I had any baking skills beyond following a recipe.

It is very inspiring! (Although when it comes to stuff I actually have made, Martha Bakes is apparently my most inspiring cooking show.)

Honestly? One Piece. It makes me believe that we can learn to be better people and throw away racism, class struggles, and dictatorships in favor of kindness and freedom someday.

I totally get that. That's what I get from Star Trek. The idea that we can get past all of that and be better someday. When I want that kind of inspiration I turn to Trek.

I totally get you. Sometimes Trek feels too utoptian and I look at humanity and think that we could never be that egalitarian and generous, but sometimes I need to believe that we could maybe. It gives us something to aspire to.

With OP I also get that side of "and if nothing else works become a pirate and stick it to the man" and I'm ready for that, too.

Honestly that's why I like DS9. When I just want complete feel good I'll do TNG, but a lot of the time it does feel unrealistic and my mind can't handle it. But DS9 show some of the cracks and that the utopian future isn't completely perfect while still showing the good future.

I played FFXV for the first time around the same time that I was getting really frustrated with my supposed inability to cook, so Ignis' recipes really, really inspired me. I went full Julie & Julia on it and attempted to create every recipe (with substitutions where necessary, like I used turkey meat in place of cockatrice for instance LMAO) over the course of a year. Some wins, some fails, but it was such a great kick in the ass and so much good experience that's really pushed my cooking into a much better place. I have a much better sense of flavors now, and I'm not afraid of cooking things on high heat anymore.
