I don't really agree about WMM, but the fansubs part? TOTALLY. AGREE. If I see subs in a fansub that aren't in there for a good reason (like the fake fansubs in Tainted Donuts), i hit the back button immediately.

I used to use sub clips when I was starting out because I was too lazy to go looking for cleans or raws, but lately subs have started to bother me too. The weird thing is that if it's an AMV with subs in a language other than English, I don't really mind at all.

Fake fansubs I have no problem with. In fact I think it's pretty creative if you're able to pull it off well. But it's kinda hard to get into an AMV with the original dialogue scrolling across the bottom. I guess I'm just one of those old farts that recalls when making AMVs required some skill and effort because there was no WMM and internet fansubs were scarce.

I honestly hardly consider a video a real AMV unless there's some sort of effort to actually TIME the thing....XD;;; Luckily, there's still plenty of good AMV makers out there. If you wade through the crap. *loves the Org for this reason--it helps to find good ones*
