I always took TDS and CR to be more in mocking of television news then they are about sticking it to Republicans or whatever. I always feel their strongest bits are when they are mocking news coverage, and my favorite interviews are when they talk to the "real news people". Yes there are nights where he falls flat and whatever, but then there are really genius moments too.

I really wish we held our media more accountable for its faults. News coverage just keeps going down hill.

I think they mock hypocrisy, bullshit and incompetence, which is why politicians (especially the Bush administration) and the 24-hour news channels make excellent targets. However, when they ask for it, TDS and TCR will mock spoiled stars, businesses or individual assholes.
