Ted Mosby who should have ended up single because no woman should be forced to be with him. He was awful and just kept getting worse. Everyone else on the show was great, but Ted was annoying and terrible.

Xander Harris annoys me a lot when I rewatch Buffy.

Tony Stark in Civil War.

10th Doctor in End of Time.

Poe in The Last Jedi.

Xander is the worst, but he's framed as a "good guy" because sometimes he doesn't do vile things like rape people who are under a love spell he tried to put on a girl he liked, and then that's framed as romantic "your rapey spell was meant for ME?" *swoons*.

He never stops obsessing over Buffy, and when he's not sucking up to her while she's single, and talking about how he'd like to bang her, he's judging her for her decisions and relationships and telling her he knows better than she does.

I love Anya. She deserved better.

I think the show missed a big opportunity to have them acknowledge that sometimes friendships are unhealthy and you need to set boundaries. They kind of did that with Willow, but Xander gets a free pass.

These are all very good examples!

I remember not thinking much of Xander when I first watched Buffy, but on a more recent re-watch I really couldn't stand him.
I could never actually watch the Avengers films because (along with other reasons) I really did not like Tony Stark as a character, I couldn't even watch Civil War despite liking the first two Capitan America movies because of him, and how he acts in it. It was very frustrating indeed!
I'm curious about the 10th Doctor scenario though, I only caught snippets of the show when I could, and I remember watching that episode, but I can't recall exactly what happened. He regenerates to stop The Master, was it the episode he erased Donna's memories too?

Thanks for taking the time to properly respond to my rampage of a post, btw! I was seeing so much red art the time, I didn't even think through what I was saying. It's nice to know I didn't scare everyone off with my frothing, I guess;;!

His angsting over his "death" in a way none of the other Doctors have and especially the way he made it seem as if him using a regeneration was potentially worse than Wilf dying, all in front of Wilf.
