The Show That Goes Wrong

I saw the original broadway play, where I nearly gave myself an asthma attack because I was laughing so hard. The entire setup was fantastic, the 'extras'/'crew' would go around asking ridiculous things to the audience in a mock-serious manner, all to set the tone as soon as people arrived in the theatre. You could see the guy in charge of the sounds/effects 'sleeping' at his panel even as the shows about to begin. It was honestly comedy gold at its best!
They got me laughing so hard I ended up doing my breathless laugh (it basically sounds like a donkey) which stood out to the point the rest of the audience started laughing again at my laugh! The cast even mentioned it since it was so loud!

I only just found out that they have a series called The Show That Goes Wrong, and by luck caught the Christmas episode. Obviously, being in the theatre and being able to interact with the entertainment is better, so it doesn't quite match my experience of going to the play, but comedic staging is just as spot on, I'll say! The malfunctions with props, the crew having to run in to fix things, and the actors doing whatever they can to save the show, all rings true to the original play, and I highly recommend people watch it!
