I finally had to unfriend a few people because I got so sick and tired of them doing exactly this.

Friend 1: I hate my job, it sucks, it's awful and it makes me miserable.
Friend 2: Hey, my job is actually hiring right now, if you put in an application you can use me as a reference and I'll be sure to put in a word with my boss for you.
Friend 3: I work in HR, if you send me your resume I can look over it for you to make sure it looks good.
Friend 1: /proceeds to do exactly neither of those things but continues to complain non-stop about how much they hate their job
