Re: lunch food ideas

Like others have mentioned, I find it's easiest to pack leftovers from dinner, so I cook with that in mind. If you haven't already done so, consider investing in a good-sized insulated lunch bag, reusable ice packs and some sturdy plastic containers, it'll expand your options a lot. A small thermos will help if you want to bring soups and stews.

Other suggestions:

quesadillas with whatever filling you want
adult Lunchables - cheese, cold cuts, crackers, maybe with a hard boiled egg or some nuts for extra protein, or some carrots and hummus.
tuna/egg/chicken/ham salad and crackers, if the smell won't bother your co-workers
