If that's a complete and logical character arc for you, then I'm really baffled. I get that fandom has managed to cobble up a pretty compelling narrative for him, but there's a difference between what's on screen and what's fan-added (trust me, I know, I was in Teen Wolf fandom).

ikr? i see ppl try to wax on about his 'arc' and i get so confused because there was barely a story held-together in these movies for any of it.

Yeah, but if you read the tie-in novels, and the comics, and the blurbs on the backs of the Funko Pops and cast the entrails of a porg and read those, you get some motivation beyond "Kylo Smash!" apparently.
