That's not the way it works. Canon is canon. You can choose what you want or don't want to consume. But you aren't the one who dictates what is canon. And other people are allowed to bring up parts of canon you haven't seen in a discussion as perfectly valid evidence.

No, that's exactly how it works. Paracanon is not mainline canon, particularly for a franchise that has a history of serious contradictions between its paracanon and its mainline canon (see: Poe's entire backstory), and has decanonized all of its existing paracanon in the past.

If it's not in the movies, it's not canon to the movies. If you want to incorporate paracanon into your interpretation of characters for your own fannish activities, good for you, but the Kylo Ren who actually appears in the mainline canon is a mass-murdering psychopath.
