I only lurk there, but I totally agree! I never thought that was where I would find fandom these days

I have always found reddit to be one of the easiest places to discuss Fandom stuff. Especially useful got live watches.

If you stay out of the garbage main subs reddit can be quite pleasant, so this doesn't surprise me.

Yeah I found most of the fandom-specific subreddits as well as r/fanfiction to be surprisingly well-moderated.

lucky. my main fandom's presence on reddit is 50% "I need to make an inane, unsupported theory about where the story is going to one-up everyone else first" and 50% people who think their memes are funny but their memes realy aren't funny at all. It's more that'sthejoke.gif than anything.

Oh, lord, the bad memes...one of the few things I hate about one of the subs I subscribe to.

It was the only place for one of my fandoms around the time fandom migrated to tumblr. I always thought tumblr was a mess for fandom so never got the Reddit hate. All of my fandoms are there now and I love it! It's like the old LJ heydays.

Yeah, I agree.

I mainly lurk there and my experiences have been mixed (one of my fandoms seems to be populated by angry people that hate the show and yet continue to watch), but the positive subs are fun.

Reddit and 4chan are unironically the best places for fandom discussion from what I've found. Not only is the format better for discussion but people actually discuss shit instead of trying to 'cancel' each other for meaningless shit.
