Ugh. I don't watch this show but if I shipped this pairing I'd be pissed. I think if I were a fan I'd have rather gotten "I never loved you at all" than "I love you but I'm still picking someone else"...that's even worse IMO.

Eh, it wasn't exactly phrased quite like that. Reid knows full well she wouldn't leave Will, after all, that's no surprise to him. It was more that they were just acknowledging that yes, they love each other, and in another time/life/what have you, something could've happened between them. That love will always be there between them, it'll just be shown in other ways.

Bittersweet, yes, but honestly, I don't know how else they could've resolved it in a way that would've placated both the shippers and non-shippers. I think this was probably the best outcome in that regard.
