It isn't pedophilia. Their teacher never does anything to the girls in the OP's post and he isn't sexually attracted to any of them. What it is is that one of the girls tries to get her teacher to fall in love with her by being sexual. In any case, I've read the manga and I know it goes into depth why the girl does what she does.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-08 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it just sexualizes the girls for the sake of the readers! And occasionally stops to shake its finger and "no, no bad" before going on to another shot of the kids draped all over one another in lingerie.

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Because they're trying to make their teacher react to them. Maybe the woman who writes the manga thought it would be funny to have those parts in the manga?

(Anonymous) 2008-11-08 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
So they're trying to get the teacher to react to them on the covers of the manga and on the title pages! Wow, that's pretty meta.

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You're acting like the whole thing is fap material and it's not. Some of us are actually reading it for the plot and not for sexualized little girls... and some of use are able to differentiate between real little girls and fictional little girls anyway.

In which case, I'll probably never convince you of my views and vice versa.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-08 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)

Oh, goodie for you. Would you like a cookie for having a different reason to read than a good chunk of KnJ readers? I might think condoms make swell balloons, but that doesn't mean they're not meant for sex.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-09 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
The merchandise you see for KnJ sort of obliterates any assumptions one might have that loliphiles aren't the target audience. Just the figures are pretty damning. Lifesize Rin? Rin pulling up her shirt? Rin naked in a snow globe? Rin straddling a gigantic pencil sharpener with a "YOU KNOW WHERE TO PUT IT, CHAMP" look on her face? Seriously? Come ooooon.

The story might be interesting-- I dunno, I haven't read and don't intend to, but the drama surround this title fascinates me-- but let's not fool ourselves into thinking that the majority of people reading this are doing so for a mature take on an abused kid's fucked up sexual development.

with love, anonymous-chan~<3

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Ah well, I know I'm speaking for myself from when I read it. I don't particularly condone the anime anyway or the pervy merchandise.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-10 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
i hear ya, people won't stop giving me shit when i tell them i read playboy for the articles but it's true, damn it!!!

not all of us have our minds in the gutter 24/7 k thx

(Anonymous) 2008-11-10 07:17 am (UTC)(link)
ha ha eight year-olds in lingerie, oh MY SIDES

[identity profile] miss_prince.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair enough; I didn't really know, and was trying to give the other poster the benefit of the doubt. The whole thing is a touchy subject over here, no matter what's really going on, but honestly South Park "goes there" all the time, so yeah, it does seem to be a double standard.

I'm kind of interested in looking the series up, myself.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-08 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The key difference is that South Park does it as a parody. In the episode with Ike and his teacher, it's supposed to show the double-standards when it comes to teacher-student relationships (how older man/teenage girl is criminal and disgusting, but older woman/teenage boy is 'hot' and 'awesome' and it's 'cool that the kid scored with a hot chick') and how ALL kinds of relationships like that are bad. In that anime, they are not parodying anything: the girl is just trying to seduce her teacher.

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, the teacher never gets into a sexual/romantic relationship with any of his students though. And the one who wants him is only doing it for attention. It's about the psychological issues of the characters, and the manga doesn't show that until later in the series.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-08 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
If you would, could you explain those psychological issues to me?

Well....

(Anonymous) 2008-11-10 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
In the manga, the little girl's mother died like 2 years before it begins. This, by itself, could be reason for the girl, Rin, to want attention. The mother, for the most part, devoted her life to raising Rin, ignoring health issues that developed in order to support her child. It has been suggested on multiple accounts that Rin feels guilt for perhaps causing her mother's death.

At the same time, she is being raised by her cousinm who was in love with her mother at some point. Unlike Aoki, the teacher character who's feelings towards the girl are nothing more than that of fatherly protection, this Renji guy is practically grooming Rin into being her mother. This relationship is entirely creepy and has been intended to be so in the story. He is also partially responsible for Rin's erratic behavior, as he has made the idea of an adult/little girl relationship seem totally okay to her.

In the end, the sexualization of Rin is totally a guy's fault. So

Well....

[identity profile] malik-chan.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Sad to say, the beginning chapters of the manga (which I suggest over the anime, since I've heard the anime is too short to go into the actual plot) don't really have the plot down yet, it's the later chapters that start getting into psychological aspect of everyone's motives.

[identity profile] miss_prince.livejournal.com 2008-11-08 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I can deal with a long introduction, or taking a while to hit its stride. Is there a fan translation I can look up?

(Anonymous) 2008-11-10 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
congrats, your pedo-apologist crap had landed you on fandom wank! you're a star!
