You're right, that was an inaccurate statement and I'm sorry. But even though it does have a serious plot, it still seems a little too heavy on the lolicon fanservice for people to say it's not aimed at the lolicon crowd and/or that there's no reason why people should have any problem with it.

Unfortunately, that probably is true of fandom in general, but personally I'm as uncomfortable with shoutacon (even when it's subtext/fanservice/not the main focus of the plot) as I am with lolicon. I couldn't make it through the first chapter of Loveless, either, which seems like more or less the shoutacon equivalent of KnJ (in that it has a serious psychological plot and any adult/child relationships are seen as unhealthy within the series, but at the same time the fanservice caters heavily to the people who like that sort of thing). I'm sorry that fandom is hypocritical, but I, at least, am just a general prude.
