Let me put this in a different way:

I watch anime with my mother and father.

I watch South Park with my mother and father.

I would never watch Kodomo no Jikan with my mother and father.

And? I don't watch South Park with my mother and I rather die watching it with my grandmother. They think it's sick, should be off the air, yadda yadda yadda and that's without knowing the sexual jokes in the show.

But then again, there's the double standard. It's okay when it involves boys but a big no-no with girls.

THIS. SO MUCH. Boku no Pico is ACTUAL SHOUTA, whereas Kodomo no Jikan is a collection of cute pantyshots for the first 10 chapters, then it's Gokusen-with-a-male-teacher for what's come out since then.

And breaking anime into the "Would watch with parents" and "Would not watch with parents, which means it needs to DIAF" categories is kind of dumb.

Fine, I'll just a much closer example that I saw in another part of this post: Loveless.

I wouldn't watch Loveless with my family because it has BL and yuri and my family is homophobic. Plus Loveless gets praise for how it handles the subject of abuse and Soubi and Ritsuka do nothing worse than a kiss, and scenes like that are few and far in between.

This is pointless, you know.

Okay, this is starting to seriously bug me. The shows are not the same, not in intended audience, not in style and not in tone. I don't have to watch either (which I don't) to be able to figure that out.
