Dude, spoilers!

(Anonymous) 2020-01-27 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Knives Out has been out for 2 months. People are not going to be warning for spoilers at that point.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-27 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
AYRT - I'm the person who wrote this text and I put 'SPOILERS FOR KNIVES OUT' in the subject line, so I would have expected anyone turning it into a proper post to include that :c

NAYRT

Now I just feel sorry for the poor secret-maker who probably made an honest mistake while trying to give us a full week of secrets.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-27 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
AYRT - It's a nicely made secret, I like the font and it's a good picture (clear picture, single subject, lots of space for text so you don't need to arrange it around someone's face), but I did put a spoiler warning on there because I thought it was reasonable.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
(secret maker) Thank you. :) It was an honest mistake, not an intentional spoiler posting.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
DA

It just stopped being in theatres you absolute moron. Anything that reveals twists or key pieces of the plot counts as spoilers, and should be warned for no matter how long they've been out. It's impossible to watch every piece of media right as soon as they come out, so warn fro spoilers.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-27 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It's been two months, right?

I received no sympathy when people spoiled SW stuff six weeks after release, so good luck!

(Anonymous) 2020-01-27 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry about all the people you're going to get jumping down your throat for just saying "spoilers." You're right. I've tagged 5 year old spoilers just to be safe. It literally takes .0001 seconds and 0 dollars to add "Spoilers for X" when you submit a secret.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't omit it on purpose, Jesus.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
+1

(Anonymous) 2020-01-27 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I appreciate you making the effort, OP. Honestly, if something isn't at least out on streaming/dvd yet, then I think adding spoiler tags is just polite. With the possible exception of things like Endgame and SW, where it's EVERYWHERE and spoilers are inevitable, so 1-2 months is probably pretty fair.

This did spoil me, which is too bad, because it seems like Knives Out is basically a who-dun-it film which hangs on the mystery.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Ayrt - I think you might still be able to enjoy it, because it's the sort of movie where the journey is most of the fun, more than the destination. But hey, that sort of thing is very much personal preference.
I often can't re-watch crime procedurals because once I know who did it and how, I don't care enough.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 06:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think I'll still like it.

Most movies I don't even care about spoilers. For this one, I did a little. But it's okay. A good movie is a good movie, spoiled or not.

Secret maker here...

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Arghh, sorry about that! I usually try to include a spoiler warning when I submit, but sometimes I forget. :(

Ayrt - shit happens, don't beat yourself up over it. Now I'm busy being annoyed by the "you can't object to spoilers ever at all" squad, lol.

I'm one of the anons above, and I don't think you can never be annoyed ever. I think a month or when a movie is out of the theater is a good limit, though. Two months just seems long to me to expect people to spoiler warn.

Re: Secret maker here...

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't worry. Plenty of anons are lining up to beat me up for it even if I don't. ;P

I mean seriously, it's a crappy mistake and I'll cop to that. But people are so paranoid that they act like I did it on purpose just to piss them off? WTF?

I got spoiled, but I'm not beating you up. I'm disappointed I was spoiled. Still very much not beating you up. Shit happens.

Honestly, I get why people get cranky about spoilers in unexpected places. I just would never assume that F!S is one of those unexpected places. I’m annoyed with myself if I get spoiled for something here, because it’s my own damn fault for hanging out in a fandom space with a big Spoiler Warning posted on the top.

(Anonymous) 2020-01-28 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Technically they're all 'murderous' only one of them is a murderer. The secret doesn't say that he's the one.
