135: I hear you ;_; (Some) of the H/D/H fic i've read when they SWITCH however is phenomenal XD But I think the H/D i have read outweighs the D/H in terms of ICness (ugh, smooth-operater, abusive, totally-in-control and 3V1L!!! Draco Malfoy? D:) But H/D is pretty bad too. I like it when they both just match each other in ripping the other to shreds over anything and everything (including who tops) before the writer steers it in whatever direction. Uber!Seme Harry or Draco squicks me so bad

I just don't know where to look. Many of the best writers have these annoying characterisation habits, unfortunately. As I said to the anonymous above:

On top of that, people exaggerate that behaviour beyond reason. Harry was in a rather dark period during OotP, but he wasn't a raging maniac. Well, not all the time. I think he screamed at people twice or thrice during the whole book.

The other main reason why I have problems with Harry as a top is that he's always written as someone who really knows what he's doing when it comes to romance. Since he's so clueless in the books, the discrepancy is extremely jarring. Harry is very assertive when it comes to solving problems, rescuing people and creatures, and sneaking around to make his little schemes come true. When it comes to social interaction... not so much. XD

Along with this strangely suave personality, a new, impressive physique seems to be a must. Instead of the short wiry seeker with a thin face and large almond-shaped eyes, he's now a Greek god with legs like tree-trunks, square jaw, and tanned skin. Well, all right, he might be tanned in canon, I can't recall. But the rest makes me boggle a bit...

Oh, i know, i do love dorky!Harry so much (smooth!Harry Potter equals smooth!Malfoy in terms of ughgetitawayfromme! D: i think XD)
I've got some lovely fics bookmarked BUT i don't have my own computer right now and none of the titles spring to mind. But i am halfway through an ongoing fic right now called 'the killing moon' on fanfiction.net by Nevernever. It seems quite promising so far, the characterization is good (no glaring faults come to mind) and the HarryDraco interactions are complete -LOVE- (It's also H/D/H)

Oh God, reading crappy characterization makes me have very strong urges to go write some good stuff. Curse Nanowrimo and it already being past my bedtime!...

Gods, yes, me too! It's become so bad now, that I can't even read fic where Harry is simply mentioned to be taller than Draco; very often that goes hand in hand with that awful characterisation, and I've learned to flee at that sign. ^^;;

I don't know that I could see Draco the Seducer either, but at least he's got normal social skills? He's got much too short a fuse to ever be smooth (at least when it comes to Harry), though. XD

Haha, me too, and I don't have time either, unfortunately. Thanks for the rec though, I'll check it out. I don't have much time to search for fan fic myself nowadays, so I mostly have to go by recs.
