(Anonymous) 2008-11-10 01:44 am (UTC)(link)for the record, i agree that the holland/talho relationship is a heck of a lot more realistic than the renton/eureka one, but i think what the latter ship has got over the former is that it gets the magic of falling, hard, for someone for the very first time.
i love both ships desperately.

I see people dissing E/R all the time, saying it's unrealistic or too fluffy or whatever, but every couple in the series balances each other out in different ways... and like you said, they're totally recklessly and unashamedly in love for the first time, and I think this series handles that euphoric-fluffy feeling in a more palpable way than a lot of series/movies/manga/whatever try to do.
