Okay, it's probably just some kind of hair clip or something, but - from this image alone, I'm prepared to love this guy. :D

LOL, it is a hair ornament of some kind and most of the major male characters have some sort of decoration on their top-knot. It does look neat. :)

Yeah, character growth is very important to me, so I don't mind it when characters start off unsavoury as long as they grow along the way.

Well, Jiang Cheng starts off kind of angry with lots of issues and... ends up also angry, but starting to deal with his issues? He's not there yet by the end of the show, but IMO he'll make progress.

I do understand not liking him and I do think he has some traits that are pretty unsavory but I also feel like those who hate on this character and call him irredeemable for being mean didn't really pay a lot of attention to the plot and his character development.

I liked him well enough when he was younger, I can totally relate to him, and I hope that he will become a less bitter person with time.
But I also think he should stay far far away from the people he hurt, at least until he gets himself under control.

Jiang Cheng! <3 It always makes me sad when I see people hating on him. He's my favorite character both in this and the original novel.
