Tyler on ST:Disco. I sort of lost sympathy for him after they flip flopped on his rape trauma, and he became the endlessly promoted plot device.

I really didn't mind him, though I understood how badly they were using his character the entire time.
He had a lot of potential, especially with being molecularly transformed into another species against his will- but they never did anything with that. (as far as I can remember...;;)
He was (like you said) just used as a plot device, as some sort of failed herald for the Kilngon's (aka the dead almost boyfriend of L'Rell) or to create drama by being Micheal's (ex)boyfriend, somehow given the plot armour by promotion just to make things worse for everyone involved.

I was more mad that they didn't exactly give him an actual character to whom, I could accurately say liked or disliked. He's just 'The Chick' at this point, thrown in whenever it was convenient to get a reaction from his significant others... And it's not as if he's getting the help he needs after a trauma like that... Ugh! I'm just so mad at the amount of potential they continue to try and pick at, and yet miss every time!

(or something like that;; it's late an my brain is getting tired;;)

Was the transformation against his will, though? I thought Voq had gone through it willingly, and it was only the final suppression of the Klingon personality that neither Voq nor Tyler had consented to. Of course, you could say *Tyler* had never agreed to be made human, but he didn't yet exist at the time to have an opinion.
