[Color Out of Space]

I'm a wimp, so even if I like the premise of certain horror films I still have a hard time watching them, especially when the characters act like complete idiots. I prefer choice making horror games like Until Dawn where I can effect some of the actions/consequences of the characters/plot.

I was looking forward to seeing this one because while I'm a sissy about horror, I like laughing at Nic Cage and I like laughing at Lovecraft. Perfect combo. And then I heard about the body horror and noooope, can't do that.

There are some great horror movies out there, but I'm not sure I ever saw any of them in theater. I feel like most of the best ones are either non US-made, or kind of indie, and in both cases they don't tend to get super wide, heavily advertised theatrical releases.

I guess IT was pretty good, and I saw that in theater. But weirdly, even though it's absolutely a horror movie, my brain doesn't really think of it as a horror movie. I always think of it as a coming-of-age, 80s nostalgia movie first, and a horror movie second.

Sidenote: I get that portraying the Color Out Of Space is basically impossible, but 'pinky purple'? Seriously?
