You would hate Cool World so very much.

That was one weird movie

I still can't believe someone managed to successfully pitch that movie.
It's such a mess. In concept and execution.

The movie that was actually pitched was very different than the movie we got.

The director and scriptwriter, Ralph Bakshi, wanted a gritty, fully animated hard-R noir horror/thriller, but the producer not only rewrote the script in secret, he also insisted on having Kim Basinger as the lead (not who Bakshi wanted at all), and Kim demanded that the rating be lowered from a hard-R to a PG. And all of this lead to the mess we actually got.

Who did Bakshi want?
P.S. I know an animator who worked on that movie and he hated it.

not the op but i did do a google deep dive after reading this; he wanted drew barrymore (who was only 17 at the time of the movie's release, so the fact that he wanted her in that role is kind of disturbing).

did he say why he hated it? was it the movie itself or the combined animation/art styles and making it blend with live action?

Love the image choice.

Assuming OP means "crossover between 3D media and 2D media," not shipping 3D and 2D characters who coexist in the same media... yeah, I wouldn't be able to take that seriously, either. I don't even like gen crossover fics between 3D and 2D - heck, I don't even like multi-fandom fanvids that combine live action and animated media.

Dabblin' in watercolors, Eddie?

I have absolutely no problems crossing comics characters with live action characters in fic, but I would feel weird seeing it done visually.
