My opinion on this is that you can have a social taboo on something even if it's not morally wrong in itself or every instance, and this is an instance where I think it is, in fact, good to have a social taboo.

I think I agree with you about this. Like, my "secret" still stands, but I don't think agreeing with you about this conflicts with that?

Like, I wouldn't see a middle-aged person in a relationship with a barely legal person and think, "Way to go, man, good for you, that's awesome!" I would definitely side-eye the middle-aged person and find them a bit suspect. But I'd still fundamentally "condone" the relationship, because it's not inherently wrong, and it's not my business to not condone it.

(And by "condone" I just mean...like...try not to let my feelings about the age gap cause me to treat the people in that relationship like wrong-doers, and keep an open mind to their situation until such time as I'm given a real, tangible reason not to.)
