123. I don't know what the secret is all about, but I just sat with friends and watched the entire first series of "Spaced" in one go. How is that show the best thing ever on repeat viewings? It never gets old. I love all of them. Even Brian. But especially Daisy. Thank you, secret maker of a secret I don't get, for bringing some joy into my day.

Oh, man, ain't that the truth? I've been saying the same thing for TWENTY FREAKIN' YEARS! Anytime some jerkwad asshole starts in with the, "But your first Doctor is always YOUR Doctor!" it provokes the "Pow, right in the kisser!" instinct.

No, YOUR Doctor is the one you just happen to like the best, regardless of how old you were when you saw him or how many others you've seen before. If it's your first, fine. If it's not, THAT'S ALSO FUCKING FINE! They're all good! You don't have to actually choose one over the others, people.

Hmm... I always went with 'your Doctor' being the one that really, properly got you in to the show? Not neccesarily your first Doctor (technically, that was Eccleston for me, but my first one was Bad Wolf, so...), but the one that's, say, the Doctor you really started watching. So Ten would be my Doctor, but my favourite is Five. (And even though Ten is my Doctor, I'm not a twat and understand HOW THE SHOW WORKS, so ^_^ Bring on Eleven!)

Yes! My first Doctor was Colin Baker. Colin Baker is no one's favorite. If you're a fan, then you get how the show works. If you're just here for the David Tennant, then I hear he's quite good on that Viva Blackpool show! Why don't you go over to their fandom and stop bothering those of us who are watching bootleg copies of K-9 and Company?

Why yes, the first episode of Doctor Who I ever saw was Timelash! :D

I'm sorry if I caused offense. He was shoved in between the awesome of Peter Davison and...well, a bureaucratic screw-up at the BBC, so he tends to get lost in the shuffle. He may not have been my favorite, but damn if Timelash isn't a great serial. The face of The Borad still gives me the willies.

I always thought "your" Doctor was the one who a) was the first Doctor you saw; b) the Doctor who made you a fan; c) your favorite Doctor. Any, all or some combination of the above.

For me, MY Doctor is Jon Pertwee. He's not always my favorite Doctor, and I'd seen both Nine and Ten before seeing him, but the first time I saw him, I imprinted on Three like a little baby duck, and whenever I think of the Doctor, I think of velvet and ruffles, arrogance, UNIT and crazy wild hair (hair that actually moves, and I'm looking at you, Ten).

I read somewhere that Objectivists used to have conventions, where you'd have people cosplaying as Dagny Taggart with cigarette holders and all.

If I wasn't typing I'd be clapping. I just want to brain these freaking people. My first Doctor was Paul McGann, who as you said got one episode. I moved on. While I dearly love Eight I've learned to love others too. Life goes on and so do Doctors. Get over it!

Thanks; it felt good to finally get the frustration out. Then I think about how a bunch of these fans who are up in arms have no idea that the show started back in '63, or maybe even that David Tennant isn't the first actor to play The Doctor, then I get sad.
