OP only expressed a subjective opinion that they're 100% entitled too and didn't attack anyone in the process; they deserve the same courtesy.

That said, a lot of people in this thread are acting as if the worst that comes out of purity culture in fandom is people telling us not to ship something/saying a ship is disgusting. Have you missed the death threats, rape threats, doxing, sexual harassment, violent threats, etc. that regularly gets thrown at people for their "problematic" (sometimes not even THAT problematic) ships?

Obviously OP didn't even come close to any of that and as defensive as I get someone that's been through it might get, they don't deserve to be treated as if they had. But that hardly means people complaining about purity culture are whining about something inconsequential.
