Well yeah, but... I think she's supposed to be younger than a teen, which is the problem. I'm not totally sure, though. Casting a 20-something to play a teenager is one thing, casting a 20-something to play someone who feels like they're supposed to be an actual child is just weird.

Very true, though whenever they choose not to cast children I generally feel that the show just didn't want the hassle of kids on set. I probably should judge them harder for it, but I can never seem to manage to.

I can't speak for the intention in The Untamed, but I recently had reason to look it up and A-Qing is described as 15-16 in the novel (when her ghost appears after her death). That surprised me, because I'd gotten the impression of her as being more like 12-14.
