I do the same thing. I will get into the "thing" if the fic is good enough. I am still thankful that one fic involving cannibalism didn't awaken anything in me.

Steve/Bucky https://archiveofourown.org/works/10678899

It is...very light cannibalism if that is a thing.

It is a shockingly romantic story. Let me know if you like it!

I Loved It!!

Okay, I really freakin' loved that.
Like, I'm all in for fics that involve the characters getting into nefarious situations, and exploring how far each character is willing to go in order to survive, and this basically transcends that entirely!

The idea of Steve literally offering himself up in order to save Bucky (to save anyone really) is oddly in character for him. Like, I was half horrified, but there was enough rational behind it, with how it was phrased, and in Steve's motives, which make it work. Him waiting, and waiting, his mind finding a solution so extreme that it's half formed with the desperation his intentions will wake Bucky up, just to tell him off about it, but with no other option to turn to regardless.
Steve thinking about how the serum could have been part of what saved Bucky, if not through science, then through who he was as a person, or as some kind of catalyst to convey his wants though his own flesh, is just so interesting. I love how central it is as well, that it was Steve, not Zola, who changed Bucky.
I swear I heard the penny drop right when Bucky kissed him though... and damn did it drop hard. Right in the middle of the heart-melting domestic bliss scene too;; Like damn Steve's stupid good heart telling him to wait until Bucky has had time to deal, when really he's afraid of what could happen when he does, all the while allowing his guilt tear him apart though his silence.
But oh my god is it sweet and romantic as hell! I really expected it to go the typical 'I'll give myself to you' route, but they when hard with the cannibalism, and it's really great!

I haven't had the chance to acutally sit down and read it until now, but I am so glad you rec'd this, thank you!

This is by far one of my favorite outcomes of the fic.

I am so glad you enjoyed it! Now I know there is another person out there in love with that weird cannibalism fic!
