She has big breasts and wider hips than most girls in anime/manga. That clearly makes her hourglass shaped. Although I'm no particularly seeing the "wide hips" bit...

I like the character designs for women in Last Exile (http://www.ege-design.fr/last-exile/img_last_exile/lavie-last-exile.jpg), where not only are the women's uniforms bulky like their male companions', but there's also very little impractical Ultimate Cleavage.

The heroines generally still have the standard body-types, though.

I like that design for the outfits. I haven't seen that (Anime/Movie?), but I'm glad not all series give into fanservice. It looks like that really works in the context.

I was just thinking about that. There's either loli, impossibly-big-breasted women, or the princess in despair type, and that is just off the top of my head. And most shoujo heroins just fall in "teehee, so cute".

Last Exile. It's one of the shows my club is watching. The show's not actually my cup-of-tea, but I really admire its distinct, realistic style. Many fans watch it mostly for the art.

I think anime is starting to have different body-types, if only for the sake of experimentation. Even my favorite show, Revolutionary Girl Utena, had those Long Legs Long Hair thing, which was really prevalent in the 90s.

And hey, there's always The Wallflower.

Last Exile is one of my favorite shows becaue of the art. The plot was a little.....what, but in general was fine.

Yeah, the art is just... pretty damn awesome. But I'm actually not a big art fan, so that's not enough to boost it in my favorites column.

Big breasts in manga/anime are the norm.

Unless you're watching Shoujo, in which case flat chest seems to dominate.

i think it's that she doesn't have that "bony" look. She's very curvy, compared to say.. Nia of the same series.

In the lower pic she looks like a reasonably normal skinny girl -- i.e. there IS a belly there, albeit a flat one, but she could conceivably have internal organs, and her breasts while big are not ludicrous.

The top one... yyyyeah, I'm not seeing it.

I agree with you. Sure she's bigger than other anime characters, that is not saying much.
