124 Depending on which celebrities, they aren't that far removed from the average person. The difference is that they make money doing something that makes them famous. They are very much NOT fictional characters, no matter what you want to believe.

Actually, very elaborate decorative cakes usually are meant to be eaten. It's frowned upon to use inedible elements (ie. plastic decorations when you could use marzipan instead), and even elite cake-decorating competitions usually have scoring criteria for how the cake itself tastes. 'Cause, I mean, it'd suck to spend hundreds of dollars on a cake you can't even eat, right?

However, celeb RPF is dependent on their public images and a lot of it probably isn't "in character" simply because it is lacking lots of the information that is often given for fictional characters. For instance, actors are often seen through their roles and their true selves are less well known. So, unless the author knows the celebs personally, I think it's safe to say that RPF characters can be considered to be at least semi-fictional.
