132. You have to admit, Women on the show don't go over to well in fandom, while its a lot easier for a man to join the Supernatural 'verse.

The problem with the women on Supernatural is that they tend to think that making Dean look like a dumbass is what makes them tough and strong. They try to hard to be cool. Its the way they're written and the way they are received. I'm sure a little of it has to do with the fact that attractive women are cast (which come on, its television of course they're casting attractive women) and the fact that some viewers might be subconsciously jealous, but honestly I think its the characters themselves.
So far I don't think the female characters on the show have had as much attention from the writers as they should have been given. Most of the women were never given the time to develop past a 2D character. Others... were recast by new actress who decided to take the character in a completely different direction which threw a lot of people off.
I'm still waiting on a great female character on Supernatural, however, I'm not going to whine over every new male addition to the show either (mostly because I love the additions). As for the straight female audience, I think they deserve more credit than just dismissing our opinions by saying they won't like any new woman to the show.
tl;dr ... I think I went on a tangent somewhere between Castiel and female audience. ^_^

Sometimes straight women like female characters. Trufax. And some of us like hot men and hot women. When the majority of the fandom hates virtually every woman that is introduced, for a variety of lame-ass reasons (though I agree that Bela was written poorly -- I'll give them that one), there's a problem.
