Today is the two-year anniversary of my horse Sharif's death. I'm too sick to go and leave carrots and flowers on his grave like I'd planned, so mainly I'm just sitting around trying to distract myself with varying degrees of success. My new kitty Amaya is providing a good deal of comfort, though, as are the rest of my animals, so at least there's that.

I'd say losing a family member. My cat is as much a family as anyone else is.

Aw, I'm so sorry. Losing a pet is so awful. You lost a family member. I hope you're kitty family member continues to provide you comfort in the coming days and that you can get well soon and are able to leave those flowers and carrots at his grave. He'd understand that you were sick and this was meant to be on the anniversary.
