copy/past is always awesome for that; have to use it myself WAY too often when people think it's awesome to have a character lapse into Russian during sex. It's SO spoils the moment that I have to copy-paste that into googletranslate to get something like "fuck more you are so gorgeous".

/also, as an expat primarily using my second language with my lovers… yeah, in my (admittedly not extensive but still) experience this is just … not a thing. A swearword, MAYBE, but definitely not anything more than that. :/

Yeah, copy/paste does work on screens! That is true. But not so much in print - I remember reading philosophers in college with untranslated Greek that was central to their argument and it did get slightly annoying.

Also that's really interesting!

Oh- in print, absolutely - I was thinking only of screens because it's here so I was thinking of fanfic mainly... but yes, having to manually type in something from a print source is waaaaaaaaaaaay more difficult.
