Same, OP!

I always find myself picturing Nimoy’s Spock when I’m reading AOS Kirk/Spock fic. It’s like my brain just won’t accept Quinto’s Spock.

THIS.
Quinto Spock is...yuck.

man, I'd love to make that substitution in my mind

but for me old k/s and nu k/s are totally different dynamic
like they've been inversed, you know? like jj took everything self-deprecating and humane in old spock and gave it to nu kirk. while taking haughtiness and guile of old kirk and gaving it to nu spock

i can't say it doesn't work exactly... but it doesn't exactly work the same as old k/s

I kind of wish there was a way to filter out fanart clearly based on AOS. If the characters don't look like their TOS selves I don't want to see it, it's too weird.

Saaaaaaame. AOS!Spock is such a... such a TURD. I love TOS!Spock dearly, and while it isn't the "oh lord, you only watched SNL skits didn't you" bad characterization Kirk got, it really wasn't much better.

I think the reason why I don't mind him is probably because the movies were my introduction to star trek in general, so I don't mind him too much - but ngl he is my least favorite Spock out the lot so i get it.

I'm so happy these movies got you into Trek and don't let anyone ever put you down over it!!

I enjoy AOS Spock but I think that's because I basically think of the AOS versions as their own characters in their right, because they're nothing like TOS. I mean, Karl Urban tried but even then.

But as original Trek characters? I'm down.

This all may or may not be mainly because I find Chris Pine crazy attractive though.

I have no problem with him but for me he probably ranks third behind Original Flavor and Disco, in that order.

For me he ranks below all the child!Spocks as well.
