It sounds to me that your kink is competent character work, not tropes. So as long as it's in-character for your preferred pairing, you're good to go.

That makes sense. Sometimes I do seek out pairings for whom a particular kink is in-character for. I just really hate out-of-character porn. It throws me right out. The sex needs to make sense for it to work for me.

TBH this is what does it for me, too. I've discovered some really out there kinks this way, but it was IC for my ships, and thus I just found it hot when I wouldn't have before.

Write my ships OCC though and no matter even if it's a kink I already had, I will hate it.
