I've seen people try to make parallels between Ginny Weasley and Lily Potter, mostly based on the fact that they are both redheaded Gryffindors and Harry resembles his father so both couples look alike.

Also Hermione/Lily parallels from the harmonians, since both are intelligent and talented muggleborn witches.

This is just weird to me. Like, why would this be a plus in a relationship. Who wants to be involved with someone who reminds them of their parent? That would be an instant ew to me.

On the flipside, I have seen multiple bashing fics where a delusional Ginny or Mrs. Weasley try to convince Harry that them marrying is destiny because of how much she looks like his mom and Harry is all like: "that's creepy and incestuous, and it makes me even less interested in Ginny than I already was."

That's strange too since they don't even have red hair in common given that their shades of red are completely different.

Fandom is weird.
