But not speaking in favour of police is always an option. This seems to be the missing element of this whole discussion. Not all Chinese stars have spoken about the issue to support the Chinese government, there is no reason for her to bring it up.

(Most likely, that's her opinion. People do support the government within China and leaving abroad does not automatically mean you change your point of view. I've seen many people leaving in the West fully supporting autocratic governments of their home countries, it's fairly common.)
