Wait...the crew *forgot*? I've been sitting here confused AF because of a continuity error?

I do wonder if they'd actually worked out the timelines before shooting, or if the guide they spat out was just a "Oh shit, we never cleared this up, let's, uhhhhhh, say it's been 20 years" reaction a month after it was released...

“Yes, we dropped the ball on aging him up over the course of the show,” The Witcher showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich admitted in a Reddit AMA Monday. “It’s hard to show the passage of time when everyone looks the same, so we’ll be approaching that differently in S2.”

I just figured the professional entertainer had a really good skincare routine.

(Anonymous) 2020-02-21 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ha. I was thinking...he came from a race of Super Bards!

He is my favourite thing about this show, and this is my favourite piece of ridiculousness about it. I hope so too, OP!

I would love that! Everyone else are turning into old hags while Jaskier hanging around doing sprints, and kicking ass like he's still twenty.

I've been hoping that he's secretly immortal and so is Roach. They can't get old and die. Geralt will cry and then I will cry.

Baby-faced people really do tend to look exactly the same for 20 years, though. Example: me.

(Anonymous) 2020-02-21 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, to a point you can chalk that up to genetics. I'm 37 & people usually think I'm in my early to mid 20s.

(Anonymous) 2020-02-21 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Same, I'm 45 and people guess 25, because I have chubby cheeks and no gray hair. My mother was the same until her mid-60s and then she suddenly aged up to her real age, so I guess that's in my future! Maybe they should have Jaskier look totally the same until one day they add 20 years of wrinkles!

(Anonymous) 2020-02-21 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
36 here and people routinely mistake me for a high school student. I've actually had a police officer ask me why I wasn't in class before.

(Anonymous) 2020-02-21 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, don't the books describe him as looking youthful anyway? They might as well not age him.

Yes, it's too late to take it back now. We are having too much fun on Tumblr with the "Jaskier moisturizes" and "Jaskier is secretly immortal" posts.

Fake add with a picture of Jaskier and the text 'Dermatologists hate him! Local bard exposes shocking anti-aging secret.'

When people talk about Jaskier's "eternal young looks" I feel the same as when they do it with Paul Rudd: I think he only looks like he doesn't age because his face has been stuck in his 40s since around his late teens. Terse skin and all, but still.

well, geralt' s story is jaskier's ballad more or less so why not
he can depict himself however he wants in his own work
