I agree. I generally think the Yi City arc with all the lengthy flashbacks just dragged on too much considering it wasn't actually that necessary for the main plot. It's by far my least favourite part about the story. I mean, maybe I just felt it dragged because I wasn't really interested in any of these characters but it was pretty long, right?

Yeah. I think it was shorter than the novel, but still...too much time spent on characters we'd barely been introduced to, IMO.

I actually really enjoyed the Yi City arc....right up until the flashback happened. Everything with Wei WuXian playing teacher to the disciples was really cute and engaging, and then the flashback happens and it just grinds to a halt.
