...but the point is that they DO fix it. They wind up convincing the judge to rewrite the system, and they spend the rest of their eternity helping people become the best versions of themselves.

You really have to watch it to get it. But the characters aren’t your thing, and there’s no helping that. It’s not an inherent flaw, it’s just your taste doesn’t fit the show. This is definitely one where you can’t fairly judge it without seeing it, and your comment shows that.

IMO you'd have to watch at least two seasons of the show to actually judge the show.

It's not my absolute favorite or anything, but it's a very well done show, just generally, IMO. However, I was Meh on it for most of S1. It wasn't until near the end of S1 that I started to actually like it, and it wasn't until S2 that I really liked it.

That's a lot of time spent on something if you don't like it, though.

The premise is one I don't like. The main conceit or point of the show is something i don't have a lot of interest in. The main character is annoying as fuck and not fun to watch. The other characters weren't interesting. Nothing improved in five eps.

I don't have to watch the whole thing to know that i *do not like it*, and there is basically nothing that could entice me to sit through more of it.
If you liked it, go you, but it was dreadful for me, and i have no interest in it.
