I've not seen it, but it seems as though a lot of it is about female competence and friendship? If that's the case, it's understandable that you'd enjoy it despite your squicks.

This is it exactly. And even with the medical stuff the focus is on the women being cared for, not necessarily on the babies. It feels very female-affirming to me even as a woman who doesn't want kids. Like, the care they take with their patients is the kind that all women should be able to get, you know?

Yeah, this is probably it. And probably just the overall tone of people always trying to do right by one another, even if it doesn't always work out that way. The general hopefulness is nice.
