What's with the Klopp hype anyway? I don't follow football. Is he a good trainer or is it a personality thing?

He's incredibly good

His talent as a coach and manager is clear to see with Liverpool's incredible performance in the past year or so.

But he's also impossible to dislike. The majority of rival football fans just cannot bring themselves to dislike him. It's comical.

Aw. I hope that goes away soon for you, OP. I don't care much about football but my boyfriend is really into it (played amateur anf loves the behind-the-cameras hijinks) and Klopp is by far his favourite trainer.
