As someone who ships best friend ships a lot, I really have no idea why people are getting offended by what you said here;; It's perfectly valid, and very well worded if I say so myself.
I'd like to talk about the dynamics myself if you don't mind, but only if you want to. People are jumping on you enough as it is that I'd understand if you wouldn't want to;;

I love the anecdote btw! I remember a couple of friends who got broken up in highschool because they were close and people made jokes about it... It always upset me, so I'm glad there's a show that allows people to just be best friends and not be weirded out by it for whatever reason.

No one is actually jumping on them, pointing out that friend-dynamics 'not being shipped' is a lie is not 'hate' or even all that aggressive. Pointing out that fandom has a race-issue is also not 'hate' but lord knows fandom can't ever discuss this without people acting like they are being personally attacked.

If you aren't discarding CoC and ignoring them as shippable characters, then you're not what we're talking about.

I actually agree with your points about these two and the show depicting a wonderfully close and loving m+m friendship was a good thing, and something I very much enjoyed about it. But this discussion isn't about how they are in the show, it's about how fandom looks at a dynamic like theirs between a WC+CoC and deems it 'unshippable' when were they two white guys everyone would love them and cite them as 'so gay'.

The hell are you on about? The AIRT said they didn't personally see how best friend ships could be seen as romantically involved. There's nothing wrong with that opinion, whether or not you agree with it.
Several people went out of their way to be sarcastic douchebags about it. By listing random ships, most of which don't even fit the best friend criteria given, as a response. They only meant to demean what the anon said not start some sort of conversation about it. That, because more than one person decided to 'jump' on that kind of response, means they 'jumped' on the anon.
I didn't say hate, or mention anything about race, neither did the original anon. Nobody is talking about a race issue here in this thread. Liking a certain dynamic has nothing to do with the race of the characters involved. You're the one responding to me, so if I'm the one you and whoever 'we' are is talking about, then don't respond to my response. Unless you're the OP, or the AIRT, we aren't in a discussion. Whatever your preconceived issues are about this comm. or racial dynamics and their quandaries has nothing to do with this or my response.
