Okay, so this is a completely dumb question, but is it worth signing up for an account? I use the site frequently to read reviews and find new books but for whatever reason have never wanted to actually make an account. Now I'm wondering if I should, though.

It isn't much of a social site, but I once made a RL friend through it. It's quite fun if you have strong feelings about a book and want to write a review. I imagine if you really get into it, it can be quite absorbing. There are readalong groups, challenges and so on.

I use it to keep track of the books I’ve read. It’s fun for that and I like being able to look back at all the books I’ve read during the year, but I don’t really use it to connect with other people and most of the books the algorithm has recommended haven’t jived with me.

Does it cost money? If not, why not? It's a good place to keep track of your recs, and maintain your interests.

I don't read mny English boooks but I still enjoy my account. You can rate the books or look into people's favorite lists that are registered users only.
